Shoplifter caught on MRT security camera

The store manager found four magazines missing from his shop at the MRT station.

But he did not get a close enough look at the man who stole from him.

So, Mr Richard Woo, who is in his 40s, asked to see the footage from the train station's closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

True enough, the shoplifter was caught in the act on film.

The incident happened on 24 Oct, a Friday evening, at Mr Woo's minimart at the Clarke Quay MRT station.

Full story in The New Paper, "Shoplifter caught on MRT security camera".

Impressive how vigilant the store manager was to be able to detect that 4 magazines were gone. Also impressive to notice how cooperative SMRT to allow the store manager to view its CCTV footage.

I don't think it's due to the police report. See, the incident happened at about 7 pm. The police were informed at 8.35 pm. So the viewing of the CCTV must have happened in between. So it's not that difficult to get SMRT to show its CCTV footage to any distressed store managers? For what, just 4 magazines?!
