This Blogger will blog AND beg for money; but he isn’t THE Beggar Blogger!!

Came across about this news regarding one blogger, Nur Saheed who created a public nuisance (relatively speaking) by going around Raffles Place on 13/04 with a cardboard on his chest--the message is that he "will blog for cash".

He is reported to call himself the "Beggar Blogger". So I tried to google for "beggar blogger" because I wondered how his blog looks like.

And I came across this blog titled "The Beggar Blogger" or the URL is http://beggarblogger.com. Didn't find out more details about the blogger, but from the content I doubt that the owner of the site is the very same person with the Singapore's very own self-acclaimed-without-doing-his-homework-whether-the-name "Beggar Blogger"-has-been-taken, Nur Saheed. Heh.

Perhaps he should have secured "singapore-beggar-blogger.blogspot.com" or "the-beggar-blogger-from-singapore.blogspot.com" or their other variants.

Quick! At least till now (when this article is published la!), the above URL-s have not been claimed yet.

Seeking clients around the Raffles Place area is probably a good idea for most business people, as the CBD area is home to many offices.

However, this man decided to do it with an added twist.

Calling himself the "Beggar Blogger", Nur Saheed went around Raffles Place with a cardboard sign attached to his chest at lunchtime on April 13.

The message? "Will blog for cash".

The 29-year-old wrote to citizen journalism website STOMP, saying that he had been chased away by security guards. His antics, he claimed, were a desperate marketing gimmick for his Internet services business in these tough times.

"Business has not been so good since 2008 and I am doing this as a way to get new clients," he explained.

The "Beggar Blogger" also said that he managed to garner some interest in his business during his Raffles Place escapade.

From Asiaone, "Beggar Blogger seeks clients in tough times".

Update: I've just discovered the website of Singapore "Beggar Blogger". It's at http://nurshaheed.com/. Check out also his particular post about being featured in STOMP as the Beggar Blogger. I guess it must have been a hell of a proud moment for him. Sneer sneer.

Yes, he's indeed very proud as how his photos featured at STOMP, "Man begs for clients at Raffles Place" on 16/04. Well, he has definitely achieved his aim: he's got the publicity he's so dying to enjoy.
