The latest YouTube hit: President Obama kills a fly during an interview

It's a great hit, alright. The YouTube clip, "President Obama kills a fly during an interview" has so far gathered hundred of thousands views (and there are a few of the video clips)!! Check it out...

Most times you try to hit a fly, it wins and you're left flustered.

But United States President Barack Obama proves why he is the most powerful man in the world - he killed a fly in a single blow.

The incident happened during an East Room interview with CNBC and The New York Times on Tuesday as a giant fly orbited Mr Obama.

'I got the sucker,' the president boasted after fatally slapping the insect on the back of his hand.

That scene became an instant YouTube sensation and resulted in a complaint from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).

'Well, I guess it can't be said that President Obama wouldn't hurt a fly,' lamented Ms Alisa Mullins of Peta on the organisation's blog.

The animal rights group announced that it would send over one of its Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher contraptions to the White House in the event of 'future insect incidents'.

Flies are swarming the White House a lot more these days, confounding housekeepers and irritating aides.

White House staff members report that they and their president have been routinely bothered by the bugs, and have seen the First Exterminator personally enforcing a no-fly zone in the West Wing, reported the New York Times.

White House officials say that strenuous debugging measures have been undertaken in recent weeks.

Staff members have been issued fly swatters, and one of them, Mr Brian Mosteller, stood at the ready during Mr Obama's television interview on Tuesday.

From The New Paper, "Obama's pre-emptive strike a YouTube hit".
