I just like it when the young Ip Man in "The Legend is Born: Ip Man" seems more realistically human by being hot blooded in defending his country (Chinese pigs? You're saying 'Chinese pigs'?!).
Definitely a fresh change after too righteous version of Donnie Yen's Ip Man.
Check the trailer of "The Legend is Born: Ip Man" or "Ip Man The Legend is Born" here.
Ip Chun, an 84-year-old master of Wing Chun has this to say about Wing Chun: My health has benefitted the most from learning Wing Chun. (Indeed. Just see how agile he moves in the latest movie, "Ip Man - The Legend is Born". Heck, he is even reported to be nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the 7th Movie Channel Media Awards! Okay, not really that related. Heh.)
In this YouTube clip, "Ip Chun (葉準), 84yo wing chun legend", he also shared his thoughts on the future of the martial art in today's society.

You know how bad advertisement business in Singapore is by looking at how the outdated Nu You magazine for May 2010 is still advertised in bus stops.
Sure it features angelababy. (More of her photos in her blog here). And her beauty--as some may argue--is immortal. Still it doesn't change the darn fact that the magazine is however not for the latest month. What, June edition of Nu You is not worth advertising?!

Wow. Yes. That's what the wonderful government of Malaysia believe. 1 Funny Malaysia posed a 'security' threat. Gosh. I can't stop laughing.
The other 2 books also said to be banned are Perak and Land Of Cartoons in Malay. Okay these 2 books may indeed pose a 'security' threat due to their dull titles.
MALAYSIA banned three works of political cartoons that criticise the government, but one of the artists said on Friday he was obligated to highlight issues other cartoonists would not.
The government said the cartoons in two books and a magazine posed a security threat.
Malaysia has banned dozens of publications in recent years, but usually because of sexual content or alleged misrepresentation of Islam, its official religion. But the latest ban is certain to spark complaints that the government is disallowing critical views.
'All three publications have been banned for their contents that can influence the people to revolt against the leaders and government policies,' said a statement by Home Ministry Secretary General Mahmood Adam on the official news agency Bernama. 'The contents are not suitable and detrimental to public order,' he said without elaborating. Printing, distributing or possessing prohibited material is punishable by up to three years in jail.
The works are mainly collections of comics by Zulkifli Anwar Ulhaque, known as Zunar, and other local cartoonists, questioning current events, such as police shootings and the sodomy trial of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
The books, entitled Perak, Land Of Cartoons in Malay and 1 Funny Malaysia, were published late last year. The magazine, Issues In Cartoons in Malay, with a circulation of 15,000 copies, was launched in February with three volumes coming out since then, Mr Zunar said.
From Straits Times, "M'sia bans political cartoons".
Also from the same URL above:
Malaysiakini to appeal
* Independent online news portal Malaysiakini, which publishes '1 Funny Malaysia,' said it would file a court case to challenge the ban of its book. Its chief executive officer, Premesh Chandran, said the book was a compilation of cartoons already published on Malaysiakini's website.
'It's peculiar that the book is banned ... as so far there is no evidence of public disturbance stemming from these cartoons,' he told The Associated Press.
* Cartoonist Zunar, who has published the other two works, told the AP he was still waiting for an official letter from the ministry but vowed not to stop drawing.
'In Malaysia the government is like this. They won't allow alternative views. You can do cartoons, you can do whatever art work you want, but it must be in line with the government (view),' said the 47-year-old, who has been a professional cartoonist for more than 20 years.
He said hundreds of copies of his publications had been seized by authorities for inspections from vendors throughout Malaysia.
* Another magazine he began publishing was also banned last year after the first volume. He estimated the latest ban may cost him up to 70,000 ringgit (S$30,066) as distributors were likely to return his publications.
* Printing, distributing or possessing prohibited material is punishable by up to three years in jail.
* Activists and opposition leaders have frequently accused the government of disallowing dissent. Last month, Malaysian authorities seized more than 6,000 copies of a pro-opposition newspaper, saying it did not have a printing permit. The publisher insisted otherwise.
* All Malaysian publications require government-approved licenses that must be renewed annually. -- AP

A talented Japanese beatboxer, Hikakin presents Super Mario Beatbox!! Check out the entertaining clip here. Almost 1,5 million views so far!!
For the clueless, beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion which primarily involves the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one's mouth, lips, tongue and voice. (Thank you as always, Wikipedia!)

The video clip, "How you can leave work at 5:30 pm" is very alluring. Alluringly false. It stated: "Leaving the office early - with all your work for the day done - is no longer impossible, with new technology that allows employees to be more productive."
In a real world, when your work for the day is all done...what will happen next is that your boss will give you more work!!

SMRT should have this kind of publicity especially during the opening of its Circle Lines. I can imagine how it will boost the train riderships. Heh.
Anyway, check out the hot YouTube clip, "Pole Dancing on the Nanjing Subway". Granted the dance move is sexy, but I'm quite wondering why the lady's face was masked white?! (see the screenshot above.) Censorship?
The new Nanjing subway line has been the stage for some pole dancing performances.
A Chinese forum reported that in the first occurrence, a woman suddenly grabbed the pole in the middle of the train car and showed off a sexy routine.
The second performance took place a day later.
Although initially shocked, passengers began taking videos of the performance on their mobile phones.
These videos began to circulate on the Internet.
Observant netizens say the pole dancing girl is the same person and that she had previously appeared at the Nanjing 2010 auto show.
From Asiaone, "Nanjing subway line's pole dancing girl".
It says, "The important thing in life is not victory, but the fight; the main thing is not to have won, but to have fought well."
Nicely said & the poster (taken in front of Takashimaya ought to serve as an encouragement for those suffering from the Deluge in Orchard Road. (Check out those photos - shoppers shop till they...drown?!?!)
Orchard Road was submerged in floodwaters after a heavy morning downpour on Wednesday.
HEAVY rainfall on Wednesday morning caused many parts of central Singapore to be flooded.
Large stretches of Evans, Stevens and Bukit Timah Road were affected, according to an online Straits Times report.
Traffic was impassable at some parts of Stevens and Evans Road as floodwaters went as high as half a metre, the report said. It also mentioned that shopfronts at Serene Centre, Bukit Timah, were affected.
According to a statement released by the Public Utilities Board (PUB), almost 100 mm of rain fell between 9am and 11am, approximately 60 per cent more than the average monthly rainfall in June.
AsiaOne reader "Beanie976" said in all the years they have worked at their office in Orchard Road, it is the first time they have seen floods of this magnitude.
Pictures posted on Twitter also show the basement of Lucky Plaza and shops on the ground level of Wheelock Place semi-submerged in rainwater.
The flood waters at the Orchard area reached a depth of 300mm and subsided within one hour, at about 11.30am.
Contractors are clearing up the debris on the roads, as well as assisting premise owners to pump out water from their basements.
PUB, traffic police and officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were on site to render assistance.
The last known major flooding at the Orchard and Scotts Road junction was in 1984.
Other parts of central Singapore, namely Coronation Road West, Fourth Avenue, Kings Road, Kheam Hock Road and Veerasamy Road were also affected.
Management of condominiums located in the Bukit Timah area were also notified by SMS alerts from PUB when the water level sensor reached 75 per cent at 9.30am this morning.
PUB advises the public to exercise caution as flash floods may still occur in the event of heavy storms.
The cause of the flood is still being investigated.
From Asiaone, "Orchard among many areas in Singapore flooded".

Are you one of the...Romans? Gauls? Or Teutons? Welcome to Travian, a browser game featuring a world with thousands of other real players.
RPG.net has this exciting review of the game. Partially quoted: "The game was most fun when I picked a fight with another player and tried to conquer their village. I spent a weekend calculating move and countermove, being bluffed and counterbluffed, and convincing his allies not to attack me." Heh.

Sure the cinematography is cool. Just check out the 3 video clips, "My HD moments" (Clip 1, 2, and 3). But why the HELL did the guy, Masaru leave Tokyo to go to Hong Kong & kind of abandon his other-half, Kaori such that she had to rely on--yes, you read it right--a contact lens product of Bausch & Lomb to find back her lost love?!?! If I get it right, she was hunting for him to give him a hard slap! Alas, the ending is unrealistically happy. Groan.
This daring lady photographer will attest to that. I saw her loitering around the ION Orchard with her two hands free of shopping bags. Instead, she was seen snapping photos of the shops. And the above statues (seen outside the shopping mall). Couldn't resist not to take her photo (with the background of the statues--the object of her shot).
Yes. It's the time of the year: The Great Singapore Sale 2010. From 28 May to 25 July 2010, you'll see a lot of 'attractive' discounted items. Literally you'll shop till you drop. Like this one good-nature, comical tourist from China. She comically copied the pose of the mannequin for Chanel Coco Cocoon (it's a brand of some bag, I believe).

The previous post (about 5 TV shows which should be movies) is a cue for me to (finally!) talk a bit more on the legendary, classic TV show, "The A-Team"!
Oh, man. Even the voice-over starting the show never fails to give me goosebumps!
(Ten years ago / In 1972), a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit.
These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground.
Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.
Move aside, "The A-Team" the movie (read: inferior) version of the show. The tagline is barely exciting ("There is no Plan B". What, just because you guys are The A-Team? Let's play with alphabets then, shall we? "There is no Plan B...only Consequence C!" Right, whatever...)
Check out this intriguing article, "5 TV shows that should be movies" which listed, uhm, 5 TV shows: "Arrested Development", "The Golden Girls", "Jeopardy!", "Joan Rivers Classics Collection", and "Yule Log".
There are reasons why TV shows should just stay as such. They should not be remade--or upgrade, like some people insist to say--to movies. I dread the day I'm watching the movie, The A-Team (Yes, I know I'll be disappointed to watch the movie considering I'm a big fan of the TV series The A-Team. Still I ought to catch the movie to know how much disappointment is awaiting.)
Check out the comprehensive listing of places in Singapore where matches will be screened. They have the breakdown of the places in the City region, Central, West, East & South.
You notice North region is nowhere in the above list? Arrgh!!
Update: Fret not, those who are dismayed with the above news (especially those staying in the North), the People's Association's (PA) Community Clubs (16 of them) will screen 754 'live' World Cup matches.
Football fans who have not subscribed to the World Cup can now watch the live matches for free at 16 community clubs.
From June 11 to July 12, the People's Association's (PA) Community Clubs will screen the World Cup matches 'live' at 16 locations islandwide.
On June 11, 14 community clubs will be screening the opening match at 10 pm and a total of 754 matches will be screened at these locations during the month-long tournament.
The five Community Development Councils (CDCs) and PA have tied up with the two telcos, SingTel and Starhub to screen the matches.
Singapore Pools are sponsoring television screens at some of these community clubs which lack such facilities.
Besides screening the matches, the community clubs will also be organizing other activities such as sports-themed carnival, performances and lucky draws at Braddell, Chong Pang, Woodlands and Zhenghua community clubs.
More information of live screening matches at http://www.pa.gov.sg/
The 16 community clubs

Cheng San CC
Chong Pang CC
Chua Chu Kang CC
Eunos CC (Vacant Land near Temporary Market)
Gek Poh Ville CC
Jurong Spring CC
Tampines Central CC
Telok Ayer Hong Lim Green CC
Toa Payoh East CC
From Channel NewsAsia, "16 community clubs islandwide to screen 754 'live' World Cup matches".
Update: and of course, you can watch the live games at 34 McDonald's 24-hour restaurants. Yay!
World Cup fever swept through the heartlands with 16 community clubs screening the opening match between South Africa and Mexico.
Cheng San CC was a hive of activity on Friday evening as volunteers and grassroots leaders worked to set the stage for the opening match.
And looking at refreshments that the organisers have prepared, fans can cheer themselves hoarse for the love of the game.
So who do they think will win tonight's match?
One man said: "South Africa could win tonight because it's their home turf and it's a good advantage for them in their home town."
"Mexico will win because with the warm-up matches we've seen, it's quite a competitive team. I predict 1-0 for Mexico," said another man at the event.
The 16 CCs will screen the matches until July 12. They include Braddell Heights, Mountbatten and Woodlands CCs.
Over at McDonald's, fans are gathering for more than just a burger or two.
34 McDonald's 24-hour restaurants are screening the World Cup matches 'live', giving hungry football fans yet another option.
The fast food restaurant is also expecting demand for their delivery service during the month-long tournament to increase by at least 20 per cent compared to the last World Cup in 2006.
But for football fans, there are more reasons to get out of their house.
One fan said: "When you watch the matches outdoors, you can watch with your friends, rather than to watch in our small apartment. So everybody can enjoy and cheer together. I'm looking for that kind of atmosphere and it's something that you cannot find at home."
From Channel NewsAsia, "World Cup fever spreads to heartlands as 16 CCs screen matches".
The special edition DVD of the 1984 movie is said to increase in value thanks to the newly version/remake of the show which is very much a disappointment (heck, you won't even see a screenshot of the 2010 version of 'Karate Kid').

Hey, we do know that sex sells. Especially if it comes with a free meal. Like this ad, "Eat at Hooters for Free". However, what I can't take it is that the site, "Eat at Hooters for Free" has no further information on how to sign up. And no, so far Singapore-branch Hooters has not replied my query. They must thought I'm some sort of a pervert. Sigh.
Okay, to follow up the previous post on "Breast Enhancement Ringtone", maybe there's such a thing as a "Song that makes your breasts bigger". Check out this YouTube clip & hear the sound. It for sure is not working for guys, though. Hur hur.
It's claimed to be "Top Hit in Japan". Bleah. My Japanese collegues do not even hear about this amazing technology yet. Breast Enhancement Ringtone. Right.
If you are really buying to this kind of idiocy, you may want to check out also, "Song that makes your breasts bigger". Yes, there's the sample of the song provided.

What I love most about Singapore Zoo is because they keep improving themselves. The last visit (last Friday which was a Vesak Day & the starting of school holiday--thus, explains the nightmare of getting a parking slot there) had me pleasantly surprised to notice their boat ride!
A short cut to reach the KFC. Hur hur.
