Captain America: The First Avenger (Stay after the Credits to catch The Avengers movie trailer and misc parody clips)

Finally watched "Captain America: The First Avenger". Quite a bearable show especially as it doesn't really explain about the Cosmic Cube. Or was I just nodding off at that part of the show?

Oh well, the part that really wakes me up is actually the part after the credits. Yes, there's an extra scene basically showing the future assembly of the Avengers in a movie planned to be released next year aptly titled, The Avengers.

Check out this clip, "The Avengers Teaser Trailer Sneak Peek and The Final Scene of Captain America".

Two of the screenshots:

Black Widow, Thor, Bruce Banner, Captain America

Nick Fury, Tony Stark

Now that will really a promising movie! According to Wikipedia, the characters featured in the movie, The Avengers are going to be:
- Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man
- Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America
- Chris Hemsworth as Thor
- Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the Norse god of mischief.
- Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the director of the super-spy agency S.H.I.E.L.D
- Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)
- Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, a master archer known in the comics as "the World's Greatest Marksman".
- Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / Hulk
- Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who works closely with Jackson's Nick Fury

Nice, huh? Nice, huh? Nice, huh?

Heh. Okay, til then enjoy these 2 parody clips of "Captain America: The First Avenger":

Life in India and the Singhsons

The above clip is titled, "LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem Parody: Life In India". Heh. As per this morning (1050 hrs), the YouTube clip has gathered 60,072 views. Impressive as the

A two-and-a-half-minute music video parody on living in India is a big hit online.

Ingeniously titled "Life In India", the YouTube music video is a parody of the fist-pumping club favourite, Party Rock Anthem by dance duo LMFAO.

Uploaded by GeekSlayer73 three weeks ago, it shows a young Indian man jiving enthusiastically to the music while declaring his love for his country and all things Indian. As of Friday afternoon, it has been viewed 26,000 times.

Despite cringe-worthy lyrics such as "Life in India is fun tonight, everybody grab a bowl of rice", users have described the parody as being so bad, it's good.

YouTube user Vksan wrote, "You just killed the song dude... but I LOVE it lol".

Another user, Edfrost, predicted: "I guess this video is getting 1million views".

It's not the first time "Geekslayer73" has parodied a video or celebrity. On his official Facebook channel, Jay Karamchand describes himself as someone who likes to "make music video parodies, skits, and comedic ads. Though many of my videos are about Indians, they are all jokes and are not serious."

His official website also showcases his other personas in which he parodies Justin Bieber and hit songs by US hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas. Combined, his YouTube videos have received over 100,000 views.

Partially quoted from Yahoo! News, "Hilarious music video makes waves online".

And since we're in the India-related Youtube clip, do check out this cute video, "The Singhsons (Indian Simpsons spoof)":

One of the comments worthy to reproduced here is from one nahor88. S/he said, "I'm Indian and I thought this was f***ing hilarious! People need to learn to laugh at themselves."

The clip is described as "Isabella Yang Qihan 杨棋涵 & Liyuan Jing 江伊涵 & Jiang Yihan 李媛静 sexy artistic video in a more aggresive manner". Well, it's sexy alright. And artistic. I like the most about the part when the eyes are flashing against each other with the sound of electricity in the air(?). Yeah, I'm referring to the 2-second part of the clip starting from the 40th second.

Out of curiosity: what is the question that the 3 ladies shrieking at each other? English translation please?

Liar Game Episode Zero - Akiyama, Kanzaki Nao

Nice touch this Episode Zero of Liar Game's protagonist, Akiyama. Darn. I still wish I have watched the movie, "Liar Game: The Final Stage".

There's also another Episode Zero for Kanzaki Nao. But pity, no English subtitles!

Felicia Chin is busking as a rocker at Orchard Road!!

Nice! I like it especially when Felicia Chin dons the-Phantom-of-the-Opera kind of mask. Heh.

On a separate note, the YouTube clip of Felicia Chin busking as a rocker at Orchard Road is very recently uploaded. So the no of views (merely 15 nos as per 5:45 PM today) should not be the indicator of how popular she is.

To prove the point just compare to the 7-second clip of her being kidnapped. It has gathered 139,471 views since it's put up on the YouTube 5 years ago.

Haha. Uploaded by indymogul:
You might have seen the leaked Wolverine Movie, but you haven't seen this bizarre behind-the-scenes footage of Hugh Jackman struggling with his performance in the new X-Men: Origins film! Apparently, the actor's song and dance impulses were a challenge to overcome during the filming of the movie. The Musical is Back!

Crazy Marriage Proposal - Guy falls off building!!!

So what do you think? Hazardous way to propose, eh? LOL...

Manpower cost is one of the reasons for fare hike?! Relook at the Remuneration of Directors!!

SMRT - Remuneration of Director - Annual Report 2010

SMRT - Remuneration of Director - Annual Report 2009

SMRT - Remuneration of Director - Annual Report 2008

The above screenshots from the annual report of SMRT - the reports can be downloaded here.

Yes. The figures are quite a shock to me, thus I dare not check the annual report of SBS. (I pity my weak heart, you know?)

Just take a look at the total remuneration of Ms Saw Phaik Hwa, the SMRT President & CEO for the last 3 years. On year 2008 hers was $1,310,298 and on year 2009 it was $1,560,334 and on year 2010 it was $1,668,747.

SMRT shareholders, what say you?!?!

Was this issue not raised during the annual general meetings? The remuneration figure from this post alone is such a staggering no.

To propose for a fare hike without even putting an effort to REDUCE this ridiculously high remuneration figure is very insensitive of SMRT.

C'mon, SMRT, you can do better than this!!

The two public transport operators, SBS Transit and SMRT, have submitted applications to the Public Transport Council (PTC) seeking bus and train fare adjustments.

Both cited significant cost pressures despite increased efforts to lower costs and increase productivity, and have asked for the maximum fare adjustment of 2.8 per cent.

Escalating energy and manpower costs prompted SMRT to seek for a maximum fare adjustment of 2.8 per cent.

It said this is based on the annual fare adjustment formula that takes into account the consumer price index (CPI), wage index and productivity gains.

It said energy costs rose 17.5 per cent to S$122.4 million as of this March, due mainly to higher electricity and diesel prices, and the expansion of the rail network - with the opening of Circle Line Phase One and Two.

More staff also had to be hired to operate additional train and bus trips to meet rising commuting demand.

Manpower costs also increased as a result of a higher employer's CPF contribution rate, from 14.5 per cent to 15 per cent in September 2010, and to 15.5 per cent in March 2011.

SBS Transit said it is also facing costs pressures for fuel and energy, on top of investments in new buses to renew its fleet.

The renewal exercise first began in 2006. Last year alone, some S$268 million was spent on another 600 buses to be delivered in 2011 and 2012.

SBS Transit said more details of the application, which is subject to the approval of the PTC, will be announced at a later date.

Gerard Ee, chairman of the PTC, told MediaCorp there is a need to assess the basis of the applications and to check the accounts of operators - a process that is likely to take some months.

The last time bus and trains fares were increased was in 2008. Back then, the PTC approved an adjustment of 1.7 per cent which translated to a fare increase of about one to three cents for commuters.

Commuters hope that increases, if any, this time round will mean better services.

One commuter said: "They have to do something about the comfort level. Probably the service, especially during peak hours."

Another added: "I think with all the inflation and stuff, the increase is unavoidable. But they have to do something about how the passengers are during peak hours; especially during the rush hour, the bus is especially packed."

A third commented: "The charges are too expensive for senior citizens like me."

The new Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Transport, Cedric Foo, said he would like the Transport Ministry to review the fare adjustment formula.

This includes how the government can assist the needy in coping with public transport costs.

Mr Foo, who is also a Member of Parliament for Pioneer, said the fare formula has been in place for more than five years, and sufficient experience has been gained on how the formula had or had not worked.

Earlier this year, the PTC deferred the fare review exercise to coincide with the opening of the last stage of the Circle Line this October.

From Channel NewsAsia, "SBS Transit, SMRT submit applications for fare adjustments".

I am dismayed that the transport operators are seeking an increase in public transport fares, especially when these were adjusted last year. I am more appalled that SBS Transit and SMRT have applied for the maximum increase of 2.8 per cent for all rail and bus fares.

"Uncontrollable" and "significant" costs pressures have been cited as reasons. Yet SMRT's and SBS Transit's net profits last year stood at a healthy S$161.1 million and S$54.3 million respectively, despite a marginal drop of 0.6 per cent to 1.1 per cent. Is it justifiable for them to seek a fare increase when fares have risen steadily since 2007, bar 2009 when fares were reduced slightly due to the recession?

I can understand that due to inflation and other factors, a business has to raise prices to maintain their profit margin. However, since public transportation is a public good, the industry has to be better regulated such that the public does not feel exploited.

With the sector facing a barrage of criticism due to common lapses, an increase now will not sit well with many Singaporeans, especially the low-income families and NSFs, many of whom spend about a quarter of their allowance on transport.

Operators have to ensure the system is better run before they think to raise prices. For example, despite the SMRT declaring that trains arrive at 1-minute to 2.5-minute intervals during peak periods, often I see trains arriving at 5-minute intervals.

This is especially so on the North-South line, where alternate trains leaving from Marina Bay terminate at Yishun instead of Jurong East, leaving many passengers having to alight and board the next train to continue their journey. It means trains leaving Yishun are so packed that commuters at subsequent stops like Admiralty cannot board.

Buses do not fare much better, with certain services perpetually overcrowded or prone to delays during peak hours. SMRT may have invested in new buses, but have these resulted in better frequencies? If not, I believe most commuters would rather take an older model bus but reach their destination quicker.

Unless the operators tackle these problems and prove to us the fare hike is justifiable, the authorities should not approve their request.

From Today, "How is fare hike justified when ... | Letter from Wee Jun Jie Aaron".

Bell Nuntita (Live @ Resort Live Band, 19/07/11)

Remember Bell Nuntita (whose real name is Nuntrita Khampriranon, by the way)? The beautiful Thai transsexual singer who gained her heartwarming fame through the reality show Thailand's Got Talent (she went as far as to the Final, defeated only by a 13-year-old Myra Maneepatsorn Molloy--no, the latter is not a transsexual, mind you!).

Heh. Pity. I don't think I'll be able to watch the lovable Bell Nuntita's performance.

So let's just enjoy the following clips of her wonderful singing:

When You Say Nothing At All (Live @ Woody Show) - Bell Nuntita เบลล์ นันทิตา

Unloveable (Live @ Mango Cafe, 01/04/11) - Bell Nuntita เบลล์ นันทิตา

เบา เบา - Bell Nuntita ( Cover )

SHE is the hottest transgender star in Thailand and even has fans in China, Hong Kong, Australia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.

For fans in Singapore, there's good news: Bell Nuntita will be here on July 19 for a one-night performance. In an exclusive interview in Bangkok last month, Bell, 27, told The New Paper on Sunday: "I'm really so excited!

"And I don't think this could have happened if not for the support from my fans in Singapore."

It will be the first overseas trip for Bell, who made it to the final of reality show Thailand's Got Talent about two months ago.

Bell, whose real name is Nuntrita Khampriranon, said in halting English: "You know, it's all so surreal. When you first told me that I had fans in Singapore, I could hardly believe it.

"Now, I do."

The New Paper on Sunday reported in May that Bell was elated to learn that she had fans here.

Mr Steven Ng, the operations director of Thai-themed club Resort Live Band, told The New Paper on Sunday that it asked Bell to perform here because of her fast-rising popularity, not only in Bangkok but also in Singapore.

He added:"We showcase a popular act, usually from Thailand, every three months. And there's no doubt that Bell's the hottest star in Bangkok right now."

The club has been inundated with phone calls from fans asking about details of Bell's show since the news broke on the singer's Facebook fan pages.

The club had requests to allow younger fans in, said Mr Ng.

"But there's nothing we can do as these are the club's rules."

That she has risen so quickly to be a regional celebrity is no mean feat, considering that she lost to a 13-year-old opera singer, Myra Maneepatsorn Molloy, in Thailand's Got Talent.

Bell said: "I accept the final result. I'm more grateful for what I have gained rather than feel sorry that I lost." The outcome of the talent show was fiercely debated on the Internet.

Netizens cried foul, alleging that Myra's wealthy father had spent about one million baht (S$40,500) to phone in votes for his half-Thai, half-American daughter. The girl walked away with nearly 10 million baht worth of prizes, including cash, a condominium unit and a car.

But Bell refused to discuss the controversy or dwell on her loss. She said: "Frankly, I feel I've won. Big time...

Interview with Miss Singapore Universe 2011 & runners-up (Say cheese!)

I stand corrected. The newly crowned Miss Singapore Universe 2011, Valerie Lim does have a sparkling smile. Previously (based on the top 4 photos of hers) I commented that she looks much more captivating when she doesn't smile. Heh. My mistake...

The above screenshot is from YouTube clip, "Miss Singapore Universe 2011 - Interview with the winners |":

Xiao xiao beer ad & Matrix Reloaded

Cute clip this "Xiao xiao beer commercial 2". Heh. What amazes me is that only 4,958 views so far since the ad uploaded 2 years ago. Hmm...

Oh, and in case you wonder why the fight scene seems familiar? Yes, make a comparison to this clip, "Scene of The Matrix Reloaded when Neo Fights against a lots of Agents Smiths":

My color is Red ... then again, perhaps not.

Anybody can tell where the above pic, "My color is Red' originated from? Kind of curious to read about the other colors. Heh.

Changi Airport Terminal 1 - Random photos & possibly inane comments

A few random shots when I went to Changi Airport terminal 1 on 6 July AM:

1. Because sex sells, let the random photos start with this particular photo. A pretty face paused as she talks in her phone. I like this photo (no, not because of her!) because the surrounding seems blurrish--the effect of snapping the photo while the camera is on the move. (Uhm, never mind...I'll have to reproduce the similar effect before I understand it myself. Heh.)

2. This photo is chosen because of the lights reflection on the floor. When we say Singapore is clean, we damn mean it, don't we? Oh, and the fact that the shops sell their merchandises without the burden of GST are just appealing.

3. Singapore Visitors Centre. It should really be integrated with the booths for the 2 Integrated Resorts (IR-s) Resorts World Sentosa & MBS currently scattered elsewhere in the Changi. Well, just a thought...

4. For a $15-fee, one can have their luggages to be plastic-wrapped for additional security measure. TrueStar, explain. What do you try to imply here?!?!

WTH...even Hitler strongly reacts to "The Fun Pack" song strong dislikes!!

Uploaded by isazaly, the clip titled, 'Hitler reacts to "The Fun Pack" song dislikes" might just be the evidence of how creative one can be. LOL. I love the part where Hitler orders to replace the lyrics with 'Chan Mali Chan' or 'Geyalng Si Paku Geylang'.

Now that would be the fun song I'd love to hear. What a fushion! ;)

PS. Check out the previous post on the tragic ripoff song titled "Fun Pack Song" which threatens to be featured in this year National Day Parade. Shudder.

Fun Pack Song - bad ripoff of Lady Gaga Bad Romance?!

Couldn't resist not to snap the screenshot of the YouTube clip, "NDP 2011 CR3 (Fun Pack Song, "Bad Romance - Lady Gaga)". There have been 47,373 views for this bad ripoff of Lady Gaga Bad Romance and 2,419 have expressed their dslikes! I'm one of them...if only I bother to click the 'I dislike this' thumb-down button. Heh.

Now the question remains: will Lady Gaga sue Singapore specifically the NDP organisers? Hur hur.

The Fun Pack Song (to the tune of Bad Romance)

Oh o o o o o o o o
Time for the fun pack song
Oh o o o o o o o o
We like the fun pack song

Let's start with the bag
That's right, grab your bag

Hold up your flag, don't you forget
You can wave it if you feel like it
Let's wave the flag
Wave wave wave
Let's wave the flag
Take out your light stick, it's two of a kind
It's interactive, means you can join
Just pretend
Oh oh oh... It's a disco

You know that I want you
And you know that I need you
I want a wet, wet tissue

I want Newater and I want a cold drink
You and me, let's share a bit
I want a biscuit and I want a sweet
You and me, let's share this treat

Kopi-O o o o o o o o o
Time for the fun pack song
Kopi-O o o o o o o o o

Attack the fun pack!

And from Straits Times, "Video: Lady Gaga Bad Romance rip-off yanked" with the caption stating, "NDP organisers did not have the rights to modify lyrics":
THE National Day Parade (NDP) organisers are in a bit of a fix after they modified the lyrics of a Lady Gaga hit to create a song about the parade's goodie bag.

They performed the ditty, called the Fun Pack Song, once at last Saturday's rehearsal for the parade, and had planned to repeat it for the pre-parade segment on Aug 9.

Well if you ask me, I still prefer this South Park version for Lady Gaga Bad Romance. Haha.

Check out this hilarious clip, "Mad TV - VH1 Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew". Heh.

Mickey Mouse & Friends - The Band Concert (1935)

The orchestra is performing the William Tell overture, but then Donald Duck (in his third appearance in a Mickey cartoon) appears selling ice-cream. Uninvited, Donald takes out his flute and distracts the band into playing Turkey in the Straw.

The cartoon is notable for being the first Mickey Mouse film in Technicolor, although two more Mickey cartoons were made in black and white before they were produced in colors on a permanent basis; Mickey's Service Station and Mickey's Kangaroo. It is said that when conductor Arturo Toscanini first saw the cartoon in a movie theater, he was so delighted with it that he ran up to the projection booth and asked the projectionist to run it again.

In 1994 it was voted #3 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field. Also, according to Leonard Maltin in a commentary for this film when it was included in one of the Walt Disney Treasures, The Band Concert was remade (somewhat) years later as Symphony Hour.

Tan Kin Lian's blog ... hacked?!?! (or how he is pwned by a simple quest of finding an SIA hotline no)

Yes. That's my initial reaction when I read Tan Kin Lian's blog specifically this particular entry, "SIA website".

The 65-word article (excluding the title) is as follows:

I wanted to book an air ticket to Kuala Lumpur. I went to SIA website. The website hang during the booking. I tried a few times but could not get it to work. I searched the website for a hotline number. I could not find it. I spent half an hour trying to make a booking. Finally, I gave up and move to another airline.

No way is our Presidential candidate stumbled during navigating SIA website! (Surely the Singapore girls featured in the website are not distracting, are they?!)

Singapore Airlines

So I concluded that Mr Tan's blog must have been a victim of hackers (Maybe, although we can eliminate the possibility of the culprits being LulzSec).

That must be it!

No other reason for the blatant stupidity.

Then I checked out the comments section. My mistake. The post was genuinely his. But, but how could it be?! Just for a simple hotline he could not find it?! Another blogger one Loh Hon Chun is needed to state the obvious: a fact of life that a hotline no is usually found in 'contact us' page. Sheesh.

The Goon ... he is no goondu!!

Promising, huh? Check out the above full Comic-Con trailer for the animated adaptation of Eric Powell's The Goon, produced by David Fincher and voiced by Paul Giamatti.

The Goon follows the adventures of a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for a feared mobster. The stories have a paranormal and comedic edge to them and concern ghosts, zombies, mad scientists and "skunk apes."

Find out more about The Goon in its official website
